Valentine's Day for Caregivers

While Valentine's Day is a day for celebrating loved ones, it can also be a time of transition in learning how to celebrate in new seasons of life. This is often true for caregivers. We have come up with 5 ways to spread love and help you celebrate your loved one through these new seasons, and of course on Valentine's Day!

1. Give a Valentine's Day Card

A thoughtful note is always appreciated, and it may be a great time to share with your loved one how much it means to you that you are able to provide them care.

2. Make Homemade Treats

Make festive homemade treats to celebrate the spirit of the holiday. A batch of cookies are easy to make and even if your loved one cannot actively participate in cooking, just being included in the process can help them feel special.

3. Watch a Classic Romantic Movie or Romantic Comedy

Valentine's Day is the perfect time to break out your loved one's favorite romantic movie. A little entertainment and quality time can also double as a relaxing break from normal caregiving duties.

4. Help with a Fun Activity

Take an interest in your loved one's favorite activities. Weather it be knitting, going for a walk, bird watching, or reading - these are things you can do together, and your Valentine will feel special that you have taken interest.

5. Share your Favorite Stories

Reminisce about the past and share a few of your favorite stories together. Tell your loved one how much these special memories and time together mean to you.
